The Affinity Charity Event 2024 – Bungee Jump

Published On: 16/09/2024

Each year The Affinity Group’s social committee decide on a well deserving charity to support through the completion of a ‘bucket-list’ style challenge. So far, the team have completed the three peak’s challenge for McMillan Cancer Support, and a sky dive for Dorset Mind. So, as you can imagine, finding a challenge that tops jumping out of a plane and climbing the highest peaks in the UK was a challenge in itself!

Bungee Jump

The team seem to have a taste for jumping from great heights, so they decided to complete a bungee jump challenge (rather them then me!). On Saturday the 24th of August, five of our most reckless staff members jumped 300ft out of a cage attached only by an elastic band. They made this leap of faith in the hopes of raising money for a cause close to our heart – our Affinity friend and colleague, Kat Robinson, who’s suffering from a serious form of cancer.

Our HR Manager, Mike Wyatt had the following to say about the whole experience:

“It was an unforgettable experience, and we’re proud to have faced our fears to support such an important cause and raise £220 to add to Kat’s ever-growing fund.”

When we reached out to Kat to tell her the good news, she had this to say: “That’s amazing thank you. Anything helps always. Even just a good thought helps so thanks to everyone who helped.”

Our Next Challenge

We aim to complete a bucket-list challenge every year for charity, but as we’ve now completed three of the top thrill-seeking challenges, we’re running low on ideas. So feel free to share your suggestions with us, especially if you like the idea of your accountant facing some form of peril!

And remember, it’s never too late to donate! If you would like to show your support, you can do so on our GoFundMe page. Thank you again to everyone who’s already donated.
