Moving mountains with The Affinity Group – the Three Peaks Challenge
Here at The Affinity Group we strive to not only encourage our colleagues to achieve their professional goals, but also their personal ones. And this September we’re so proud to announce that some of our Affinity Team will be ticking one of their goals off their bucket lists, by tackling the world famous Three Peak’s Challenge!
The Challenge
On September 3rd we’ll be sending some of our best and brightest to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge in only 24 hours, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Starting off at the base of Ben Nevis in Scotland, then onto Scafell Pike in England and finally a ramble up Snowdon in Wales, the team will be covering an impressive 23 miles (37km), and climbing an eye watering 3064 metres (10,052ft) in total!
Ethan Speechley-Price, the event organiser had the following to say about the impending challenge:
We have all been hard at work preparing for this challenge of a lifetime: exploring the New Forest; scaling the Jurassic Coast; weekend camping; advertising and fundraising in any way we can; and we could not be more excited to support Macmillan Cancer Support in such an invigorating manner! We are still a little ways off our goal of raising £2,000 so any donations you can spare, no matter how little, would be immensely appreciated! We all thank you in advance and hope that you wish us luck, our feet are going to need it!
Which charity will Affinity be supporting?
The team have decided to support Macmillan cancer support, and have set themselves the ambitious target of raising £2,000 in donations. Everyone knows someone who’s been affected by cancer, and so it’s a subject that’s close to everyone’s heart. If you’d like to donate towards The Affinity Group’s Three Peak’s Challenge, you can do so by visiting their gofundme page. All donations are gratefully received, and knowing they have your support will keep the team in good spirits during the challenge, especially when it’s 3am and they’re on the side of a mountain!
Wishing the team lots of luck
We all wish the team the best of luck with their Three Peaks Challenge and will be sharing photos of the event on our Instagram, facebook and LinkedIn pages once the challenge is complete.
