Charity Fundraising Throughout 2019
SG Professional Services is excited to pledge our support for our two chosen charities for 2019; The Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research.
At SG, we’re always trying to give something back to the community and, each year, we support a chosen charity. We each voted for a charity that we felt supported a good cause and that was close to our hearts. This year, we had so many to choose from that we decided to choose two! We hope that with our dedicated team and variety of fund raising events, together we can raise lots of money for these two great charities.
The Alzheimer’s Society
The Alzheimer’s Society help fund ever advancing research and directly support and improve lives for over 100,000 people. Their research looks into the best care for people living with dementia as well as trying to find a cure or prevention for the condition. For every £1 raised for The Alzheimer’s Society, £0.89 of it is spent on improving the lives with dementia. The remaining £0.11 is then spent on supporting frontline activities.
Cancer Research
Over the past 40 years, the survival rates of cancer in the UK have doubled due to the work and dedication from Cancer Research. Previously, just 1 in 4 people would survive cancer, now it is 2 in 4. With further research, they aim to increase survival rates even further to 3 in 4 by 2034. Cancer Research help with all different types of cancer and provide support in many different forms. Their work has already helped diagnose people earlier, improve treatments and personalise prevention.
We have no doubt that we’ll smash our fundraising events and really help both charities provide the crucial support and assistance to those who need their help the most.
To help us raise funds, our team will be lining up a variety of fun, yummy and adventurous activities to get everyone involved. We have already had a brainstorm of ideas, including beach cleans, car washes, bake offs, sports days and boxing. It is a fantastic way for our guys to promote the importance of the work done by these charities and raise money whilst creating some amazing memories.
